President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he will nominate Linda McMahon, co-founder and former CEO of WWE, to move the Small Business Administration. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) revealed a final rule in the Federal Register on July 25, 2016, amending its regulations to establish a new Authorities-large mentor-protégé program for all small business issues, according to SBA’s mentor-protégé program for Contributors in SBA’s 8(a) Business Improvement (BD) program.
Part 866 of the 2016 NDAA made the following modifications to the HUBZone program: authorized Native Hawaiian Organizations to personal HUBZone small business considerations; expanded the definition of base closure area” below the HUBZone program; and licensed the inclusion of certified disaster areas” under the HUBZone program.
SBA’s Office of International Trade will discuss new exporting tools such as elevated mortgage sizes, the Export Express program, and state-level STEP grants made possible by the Jobs Act as well as new efforts beneath the Nationwide Export Initiative to double exports over the next five years.
Grants are awarded for: agriculture, arts, business and commerce, group growth, disaster prevention and reduction, schooling, employment training, power, environmental help, nutrition, health, housing, humanities, info and statistics, authorized companies, natural assets, restoration acts, regional improvement, science and technology, social companies and transportation.
